The Humane Society of the United States? flagship magazine, All Animals, is now available on the iPad. Featuring exclusive videos, stunning photography, award-winning writing, and interactive content, the All Animals iPad app takes readers on a new adventure into the world of animal protection.
With audio and video that pull readers into the story, dynamic graphics that allow them to test their knowledge, and sharing features that enable advocates to spread the news on social media platforms, All Animals is leveraging the most popular tablet platform to bring the best advocacy journalism to a broader audience. Already distributed to more than half a million members in print form, All Animals has long engaged and inspired animal lovers and can now be shared instantly with readers on the go.
?As one of the first nonprofits to develop such an engaging interactive magazine, The Humane Society of the United States is thrilled to be at the forefront of digital publishing,? said Nancy Lawson, vice president of publications and brand management for The HSUS. ?The All Animals app for iPad brings a whole new dimension to the publication, offering readers the chance to take advantage of all of our best storytelling assets and engagement tools.?
In the current issue, now available on the Apple? Newsstand, readers can visit the colorful streets of a Philippine city and see an open-air spay/neuter clinic in action. They can watch rescued pets reunite with their families after Hurricane Sandy, read about gopher tortoises being saved from the path of bulldozers, and see prairie dogs rescued from poisoning. They can also share the story of a groundbreaking program to bring pet care to underserved communities and learn how to plant berry bonanzas for wild visitors to their backyards.
Developed for iPad in partnership with Daily Interactive Networks, All Animals is the sister publication to The HSUS? magazine for children, Kind News. Under the collaborative arrangement, Kind News content also appears in Happly, Daily Interactive?s app that aggregates fun, interactive content and allows parentsto add articles and videos for each child.
