We have a large family. Well, my husband?s side is large anyway. It?s so wonderful that most of us live in the same city, pretty much in the same neighborhood, even within walking distance from each other. Several of my family members said they wanted to learn how to knit, so I offered to host a family knitting class. We set a date and planned for it a couple weeks ahead.
I decided that everyone should knit the same thing. A simple stockinette cowl, knit in the round, for the women, and a garter stitch scarf for the men. I got supplies for them, and they all showed up with $20. Everyone brought food, and we laughed and talked and knitted for nearly 4 hours. My kind of heaven!!! Lots of people finished their project that same day and texted me photos. Makes me so happy!
I only took a couple photos with my iphone. I was really busy, as teaching 11 people how to knit is pretty hard!! They had to take turns asking questions and having me fix things. So, I didn?t take as many photos as I would?ve liked.
Do you have a skill that you could share with your family? Don?t keep what you do well a secret! A cooking class would be fun. Make the best ever salsa? Ragu? Bread? Any sort of craft. Possibilities are endless. Spread the love, and spend time with family while you do it!
