WWE locker room reacts to the upcoming return of Rob Van Dam
At WWE Payback, it was announced that Rob Van Dam will return at Money in the Bank on July 14 in the ECW hotbed of Philadelphia. The dynamic highflier was briefly spotted at this year?s WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Madison Square Garden, but other than an appearance in the 2009 Royal Rumble Match, Van Dam has not seen action in WWE for six years.

In what capacity will Mr. Pay-Per-View participate in Money in the Bank? Will the former WWE Champion attempt to win another Money in the Bank Ladder Match? Will he target another CM Punk or another "Paul Heyman Guy?" Or will he simply continue to innovate and entertain as The Whole Dam Show does best? As soon as the news broke, WWE.com spoke with WWE Superstars backstage in Chicago to get their thoughts on what the the game-changing ECW icon's return means for WWE.
PAUL HEYMAN: The entire WWE Universe is buzzing about the return of a true one-of-a-kind, Rob Van Dam. And no one, I assure you, no one is more exhilarated about the return of RVD than Paul Heyman himself. Because after all, Rob Van Dam is a "Paul Heyman Guy."
THE MIZ: One of the greatest highfliers, a Legend in my mind. I remember from ECW to WWE, this guy is action-packed, he is a showstopper, he is must-see. He's not going to take The Miz's spot. I welcome all comers. I've always welcomed anyone that's come back, because the fact is, if people are going to watch them, they're going to stay to watch me. Who knows how much he has left in the tank? I'm curious to see how he does. I'm a huge fan and I look forward to getting in the ring with him.
VICKIE GUERRERO: My responsibility is making the best opportunities for Monday Night Raw. To have RVD return back to WWE, I am honored to be part of the board that looked at his profile and welcomed him with open arms. RVD and I go back many years to when he was with Eddie. I cannot wait to see him here.
BRAD MADDOX: Of course I'm not surprised, because I signed him. Or I should say, re-signed the legendary RVD. I specifically told him to wait for Money in the Bank, because I wanted to maximize profitability.
TITUS O'NEIL: Anything that gets the WWE Universe excited in any way, shape or form, I'm excited about. Miss Connecticut wins Miss USA contest in Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) ? A 25-year-old contestant from Connecticut won the title of Miss USA in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Erin Brady of South Glastonbury, Conn., won the beauty pageant at the Planet Hollywood hotel-casino after strutting in a white sparkly gown and answering a question about the U.S. Supreme Court's decision upholding widespread DNA tests. Asked if she agreed with the decision, Brady said she did.
Brady gets the crown and a New York apartment for one year. She is expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising breast and ovarian cancer awareness, the organization's official cause.
During the swimsuit competition, the ladies threw off sheer wraps to reveal skimpy blue, gold and orange bikinis. They strutted in stilettos to the Jonas Brothers' live performance of "Pom Poms."
The women also strutted to Calvin Harris' electronica-infused "Sweet Nothing" in an array of spangled, flowing evening gowns. Trains, gauze and long wavy hair were the preferred looks.
Unlike the rival Miss America pageant, Miss USA doesn't ask its queens to perform a talent or choose a charity mission.
The judge's panel included over-the-top fashion designer Betsey Johnson, "Biggest Loser" star Bob Harper and "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me" personality Mo Rocca.
Rocca praised the pageant as a prime example of Americana backstage. He said he was looking to appoint a new Miss USA who reminded him of Abraham Lincoln "without the beard."
The pageant aired live on NBC, hosted by Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers pop act and Giuliana Rancic, co-anchor of "E! News." The Jonas Brothers and DJ Pauly D were expected to perform.
The winner will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in the winter.
Last year's Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, won that international crown, becoming the first Miss USA to ascend to Miss Universe in 16 years. Meriwether, who had been first runner-up, took over for her for the remainder of the year.
The Miss USA hopefuls stayed at the Planet Hollywood casino for the past week, but the flashing slot machines and ubiquitous oversized novelty drinks have been little more than a background to a stuffed schedule of product tie-in media events, including hairdo contests and paddleboat competitions.
The animal rights organization People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals is using the pageant to stage a protest of fur and the tradition of awarding furs to winners of some state pageants.
PETA has made a provocative ad featuring four nude former Miss USA winners. The tagline is: "Feel Beautiful in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs."

Yahoo Sports 4.0 arrives for Android and iOS with UI overhaul, team sync
Yahoo has spent the past several months revamping its mobile apps, and it's shifting that attention to a Sportacular redesign just as playoff season reaches its peak. Now going under the more recognizable Yahoo Sports name, the remade Android and iOS apps tout a simpler interface; users can also sync their favorite teams across devices. Those running iOS get a few added upgrades with this release, including iPad support and a stream of Twitter posts from local writers and experts. No matter the platform, fans of all stripes can grab Yahoo's updates at the source links.

Troy University finance secretary receives Vergil Parks McKinley ...
TROY, Alabama -- Troy University has awarded Stephanie Burgans, administrative secretary to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business Affairs, its Vergil Parks McKinley Award on Wednesday during a ceremony on campus.
Burgans has been a member of the University?s staff since 2007 and was nominated by Associate Controller Lauri Dorrill. Since May 2011, Burgans has been assisting in Troy?s Purchasing and Asset Management and Foundation Accounting departments.
?She willingly stepped into Purchasing and Assets during a time of uncertainty in our reorganization of the department,? Dorrill said. ?Saying that she took the bull by the horns would be an understatement.? Not only did she willingly do what was asked of her but she often boldly made suggestions of how to correct or enhance an area. Within weeks, she had organized stacks of documents and tackled other projects that needed to be taken care of.?
The McKinley Award, which is presented quarterly, is the highest honor that Troy University gives to a non-faculty staff member who has demonstrated outstanding attitude, innovation and work ethic. Winners of this award receive an engraved clock and a $1,000 stipend.

PiCloud Is A Model Cloud Made Of Raspberry Pi & LEGO For Teaching Students About Web Platforms
Here's another interesting implementation of the $35 Raspberry Pi microcromputer -- or rather a stack of 56 Pis, linked together to form a model web platform called PiCloud, using LEGO bricks as bespoke racks for the Pi stacks.
